Selection Procedures

Applicants normally exceed capacity.  The selection is finalized during June based on the following procedures:

1. First priority will be given to those students who prior to application have satisfactorily completed all program prerequisites and either the associate Degree General Education requirements with a "C" or better OR have completed an Associate Degree or higher.
   
2. Second priority will be given to those students who have satisfactorily completed nine (9) General Education units and will satisfactorily complete the prerequisite courses by the end of the Spring semester.
   
3. Ranking within each priority will be based on the following point system.
   

1. GPA:  Based on program prerequisites:

4.0...........................50 points 3.5-3.9.....................40 points 3.0-3.4.....................30 points

2.5-2.9...................20 points 2.0-2.4...................10 points

2. Two(2) points will be added for each unit completed of required Associate Degree General Education and prerequisite courses taken to a maximum of 50 points.
   
   
3. Tie Points:  Grade Point Average of all prerequisite courses will determine who will be selected if there is a tie in points.  Random selection will be used for identical GPA's.
